A “green” track is a fresh or recently cleaned racing surface that hasn’t been rubbered in yet. It offers low grip, unpredictable traction, and makes every driver complain about “no grip out there” on the radio. It’s especially common during Friday practice or after rain. As sessions go on, the tyres leave rubber on the racing line, improving grip and laptimes. But at the start? It’s a slippery guessing game.
