The weighbridge is a portable scale system the FIA uses to weigh cars (and sometimes drivers) after qualifying and the race to make sure they meet the minimum weight requirements. During qualifying, cars are randomly pulled in by officials. If the driver misses the weighbridge or drives off before being cleared, they get penalized — harshly. It’s one of those rules where “oops, I didn’t see the sign” is not going to fly. F1 may be about speed, but when it comes to the weighbridge, patience is mandatory.
